Discovery

I was looking through some old files this evening and discovered some entertaining things about one of my main characters.

- He has been named Horace, Locher, and Lohan in the past. Poor guy. He's currently provisionally named Lucius/Lucian but that's dependent on how the languages pan out.

- He has always been head-in-the-clouds and absentminded. Currently he's pretty easygoing and more insightful than his companions. Apparently he used to have a temper, though, because in one tidbit he blows up at Erika.

- Apparently he once worked for some....thing that was bad for kids? This is the tidbit I've got:
“We’ll be poor, that’s where we’ll be,” the mercenary [Erika] snapped. “Since when do you care about anything but money? Last I saw you were working for some kind of traveling show, bringing nightmares and all hell—”
“Don’t go there.”
In an instant the mage [Lucius/Lohan] had swept across the small room, grabbed the woman’s wrists, and shoved her up against the wooden chest. Fury burned in his eyes. His hands tightened as he narrowed those eyes, darkening to almost black from their normal deep green - and she glared back.
Eir had a temper. He knew it.
A deep breath and he let her go, whirling around and burying his face in his hands. His voice was muffled. “Eirika, please. You’re giving me a headache. I—you know I like kids. I hated that job, and I hate this one. Just - find him, and I can do the rest. That - it’s all we need to do.”

I don't remember what that's all about, though. xD That story featured shapeshifting nomads and child soldiers. From May 2008. Pretty intense...wish I could remember more of what I wanted to do with it.

Out of my three mains, Lucian has developed and changed the most over the years, especially now that I'm really focusing on this story to write it out. I like him. =]
